You came to the right place.

February is here, and there are a couple of noteworthy things to mention.  If you look at the schedule for this week, you'll see a band called Stickleback playing at the Locker Room Bar.  Stickleback is a combination of Money$hot and Terry Newman from Trashville, and is a fun band to listen to. (btw..that's a three spine stickleback at the top of this column) This month also features 2 new bands for the Eagles Club venue in Grand Rapids.  Juju 5 will be playing this weekend  (Friday the 12th is Taco & Margarita night at the Eagles, so the place will be hopping for sure) and Gunn Junction will be playing the weekend of the 26/27, with Crossroads in between on the weekend of the 19/20.  Quite a few of us have been noticing that the clientele at the Eagles has been changing this winter, with people in all age groups showing up to listen to music and have a good time, seemingly regardless of the type of music being played.   I'm not sure if this is because the Eagles is the only consistent live music venue left in Grand Rapids, or if more people are coming to listen to the new groups, and coming back for others, but regardless, it's a good thing.  This kind of customer support is just what is needed to keep live music as an integral part of our weekend entertainment, and the bands, the Eagles Club, and we here at the Weekly Musician sure appreciate it.  If you haven't been yet, this is the month to stop in and listen to some good music, go crazy on the dance floor, and maybe even try their dinner menu with the beverage of your choice.
